Travels in the Wilds of Africa

In 1834-1836 Dr. Andrew Smith undertook his great expedition to the northern area’s of South Africa.A member of his exploratory party was John Burrow,a youth of eighteen, who made a straightforward and concise description of the great journey. It was written to give its readers some idea of the vicissitudes of travel and of the thrills experienced by the travellers.Garnished by equally vivid pen-sketches made by the author,it is an eminently readable account of a memorable experience.
