Travels in Mauritania.


Peter Hudson, a well travelled man, first visited the large desert land of Mauritania in 1988, its people mostly made up of Moors, being Muslim by faith, and camel breeders, he found the capital Nouakchott, little more than a desert encampment shot through with sand and age–old conflict between Black Africa and the Arabised North, he travelled into the land of the Moors, finding amongst the oases and ancient caravan towns and in the seemingly empty wastes a generous welcome in the time-honoured hospitality of the desert people.
