It is so anoying when you have to decribe a books content and you find there is no preface and or an introduction,especialy as in this case when 5 pages of the prelims are missing.Basiclly it is the authors experiences throughout the Boer War of 1899-1902,by General Chtrisian Rudulf De-Wet (1845-1922) Boer soldier and statesman,Set out in 37 chapters it covers all aspects of this three year war.

H/b in the original boards,corners bumped,spine ends bruised and in general faded with age no d/w.Size 9×6 pp 520 plus a 63 page catalogue of bookd published by the Archibald Constable large f/o map,index,various appendix,page maps,no illustrations text only.Hinges cracked.Binding firm but very dry and brittle.some of the leaves in the end papers and index are uncut with face-edges deckled.There is quite a lot of foxing and general grubbiness to the end-papers and also to the outer edges,Otherwise clean enough for its age.
