The Swazi: A South African Kingdom

This book describes a way of life that is strange to the western eye and mind.Swazi society is highly structural with a centralised state, and a dual monarchy–the King and the Queen Mother–that is always in a delicate state of balance. Many points are studied here. From clan to colony, kinship and locality, political structure, work and wealth, age and education, the supernatural, plus continuity in change.Just how this country has risen to the challenge of adapting to the European way of life.
