Here we have the story of another pioneer missionary,Rev.William Threlfall 1799-1825 Born nr.Preston Lancs.Trained as a Methodist Minister, he arrived at the Cape in 1822,moved from the Eastern Cape,he went to Lourenco Marques,respected by the Portuguese,struck down by fever.He restarted his workin 1825,trekkng North beyond Namaqualand with two converted tribsmen,They were all murdered by Bushmen.



H/b in the original boards no d/w,spine faded,top and bottom edges of which are rubbed as are the corners.Size 9×7 pp 12+164,,inc plates all with tissue guards inc frontispiece.Both hinges strong,Binding firm.Some slight staining to prelims and e/p’s.With an ink signature and Christmas greetings and date to f/ep.Oterwise a nice clean copy v/g–v/g.
