The Ochre People

The author paints a picture of life amongst her Bantu people in South Africa and because it is a personal story,it has had a remarkable success. She is concerned with tradition, tribal customs and the complex structure of family life in its widest classificatory sence and she shows how ancient traditions are being adjusted to meet the problems and tentions of contemporary life and still form a very real and important part of it.
