Here,in a two volume set is the life of one of South Africa’s most colourful characters.Sir Leander Starr Jameson,1853-1917,died age 64.South African and Rhodesian statesman.As a practicing surgeon,he joined Dr.Prince of Kimberly,as the doctor on the diamond fields.He became involved with the ambitions of Cecil John Rhodes,along with the British South Africa Company,and the founding of Rhodesia.

Yes this is a two volume set in h/b both volumes with bumped corner and some edge-wear,with signs of some insect damage.Sizes 9×6 pp vol.1=Vii+314 & vol.2 = 352+16 as adverts of further reading inc.index,page maps,plates as portraits of his parents and of himself as frotispiece,in both volumes.All hinges strong.Binding good but dry,Quite a lot of foxing,staining and browing.Plus the bottom edges of both text-blocks have been very raggedly cut with some slight damage,but internally clean for their age.
