This book entitled “The Kings Assegai”.is based on a historical narrative of a warriors experiences in the times of Tshaka the Zulu king, and of Mzilikatzi,king of the Matabele people,then living in the Transvaal,himself being a member of the Mtetwa people who were subjugated by Tshaka.Set out in 15 chapters,the old warrior tells of many battles ,and the day when Africa was ruled by kings with amazing courage and huge armies armed with just spears.

H/b in the original illustrated boards,stained,corners bumped,with some edge-wear with bruised spine d/w.Size 8×6 pp VIII + 380,inc Chatto and Windus addverts,plates as artists impressions inc frontispiece,with tissue guard Both hinges cracked.Binding dry and cracking but holding.No actual foxing,but on the grubby side through much handling with some internal marking,decorated end papers.A fair enough copy for its 114 year life.
