Joseph Tindall and his Wife arrived in Capetown in 1836,and from 1839-1855 he was a missionary at various places in the territory now known as South West Africa.Born in 1807 at Gringley near Nottingham,retired in 1858 and died at Robertson 1861 aged just 54.This journal of his life and travells covers the period 1807-1857,most of his work was based north of the Orange river,among the Damara people of Namaqua.
