Their adventures and exploits form one of the most singular chapters of modern history,and deserves a clearer record than has yet been given to them,they were of course the South African Voortrekkers.The Great Trek was an abrupt bound into the continental interior by settlers,mainly of Dutch origin,living in the Cape Colony at the beginning of the Victorian era.

Limp pictorial card covers,somewhat creased with some corner wear,with some damage to the base of the spine.Size 8×5 pp 250,plus adverts of further reading,index,chronological table of the Great Trek,bibliography,glossary,page maps,b/w plates as artists impressions.Hinges strong. Binding good to firm.Some foxing to the plates here and there,and quite heavily browned at the edges.Otherwise clean enough throughout.
