This book is based on the personal diary of Sol Plaatje,an native African who,worked as an interpreter during the siege of Mafeking,he could not have been in a better position to observe the day-to-day life of the distressed town.The siege of Mafeking is here presented in an entirely new way;through the eves of one of the many Africans who lived through grim months in the Boer besieged town.
