South Africa.

The author, the well-known South African novelist, gives us a realistic survey, based on personal experience,of the problems which face South Africa today. These difficulties can be traced back to the early and persistent lack of understanding and collaboration of the three main elements in the Union–the Native, the Boer and the British. This account of the history of South Africa is lively and provocative of thought.
