Mungo Parks first attempt to trace the Niger was from 1795-97,then again more succesfully during 1805-06,from Pisania in the West, Eastward to as far as Bassa. Lander made an attempt in 1830. Our author takes up the challenge again in Mungo Parks footsteps, armed with more sophisticated equipment, to film the area to discover what changes have accured since that day.
