This little booklet tells the story of the life of the Prince Eugeni Louis Napoleon (1856-1879) died aged 23,son of the Emperor Napoleon III and the Empress Eugenie.He joined the British army,against the wishes of the British government and military heads of staff as an artist and correspondent,and purely as an observer of the fighting in the Anglo-Zulu war in South East Africa during 1879.It tells of the blunders and tragedy of his group out scouting,and how they were ambushed,by a hidden group of Zulu warriors,in a mealy field.
