Anthony Daniels set sail in a tug down the West African coast to see Liberia in the aftermath of its civil war,equipped with a survival pack and some dried prunes.He was relieved to find on arrival those emergency goods that are imported after any catastrophy–Johnny Walker, and Marlboros–but there was precious little else to lift the spirits and much to prompt sombre reflection.
