Historical Atlas of South Africa.

This atlas is intended primarily to illustrate the history of South Africa, south of the Zambezi, but as it is impossible to understand that history in isolation, maps have been inserted to show the connection between Africa and the East Indies from the 15th to the 19th centurys.26 maps are shown here in various tonal colourings, plus 26 pages of historical text, dealing with Europe,Brazil,Africa and the East Indies in 1560,the movement of native tribes south of the Zambezi before 1800.Natal,Zululand,the Orange Free State.A very interesting item indeed.

Printed ridged card wraps in nice clean condition, corners and edges very slightly bruised, and very-much faded from its original rich green colour, but this is only to be expected after so many years.Size 15×10 pp 26 in text plus 26 in maps. There is an errata slip tipped in as an extra to that originaly printed.Hinges strong.Binding good to firm.a little age-browned in prelims and end papers,Otherwise nice and clean throughout. A very nice copy indeed of an important historical item. A v/g-v/g++clean copy.
