This book sets out the acheivments of the author in his attempts to explore the territory of the Danakils.Having reached Addis Ababa, he found himself confronted by a long–sought goal, the opportunity to exlore the Danakil country.The territory inhabited by the Danakils is divided into two parts by the frontier separating Abyssinia from Eritrea.A land of vastly changing environment, most of which lies some 300–400 feet below the level of the Red Sea, a very stange land.

Some slight foxing and staining here and there mainly on the prelims.Not a bad copy for it’s 71 year life In all a very interesting book.
