Communal Fishing and Fishing Magic in the Northern Territories of the Gold Coast.

£1.00

This is an extract taken from The jounal of the Royal Anthropological Institute,of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It is a study based on the Tallensi, a tribe of the Northern Territories of the Gold Coast. It describes their social structure, that is centred around the sport of fishing. It takes the form of some kind of communal expedition, that involves the whole of the village inhabitance. This is perfomed on White Volta River, during the dry periods when the waters drain off leaving only some very deep pools. A very interesting but difficult subbject to describe.
