Brazza of the Congo.

£6.00

The author concentrates chiefly on Pierre Savorgnan de Brazza, a 19th century Italian -born nobleman in the French Navy, who explored, colonised and governed this immence region. A peaceable, kind and patient man, who often travelled alone and barefoot,Brazza always regarded Africans with friendship and respect and was in return trusted by them. This policy did not please the French and Belgian capitalists, who wanted to exploit the area’s rubber with forced labour.
