Apolo of the Pygmy Forest

Apolo, or, to give him his proper title, Canon Apolo (Apollos) Kivebulaya, who forms the subject of this memoir, is one of the outstanding personalities of the Ugandan Church. With no great natural ability, and with a minimum of education, he made his way to the front rank of the Baganda clergy by sheer force of character. Simple minded and single hearted, without ambition and without fear, he is a man absolutely devoted to one thing: to love his people as his people love him.
