A Zulu-English Dictionary. And a Concise History of the Zulu People.

So when first opening this book we read on the title page that it is of couse simply a dictioary of the Zulu-English language. However the first 100 or so pages are devoted to a concise history of the Zulu people,a subject that has been covered before by many writers even Bryant him self has published other works. But this work seems far more detailed than the others, and more far-reaching,there is also a section that deals with a comparison of the Zulu language with other ancient toungues.A dictionary it is.But also a great source of historical information

H/b in the original boards, corners bumped, and very much edge-worn to all edges and both faces showing shelf-wear and staining, with ends of spine bruised.Size 10×7 pp 778,that is made-up in the usual double column format.A section on the abbreviations used, various lists and tables.Genealogical charts intext.Hinges strong.Binding good to strong. The historical section is a little on the grubby side, with some pencil underlining to textwith a small tear to page 17.The whole volume is affected by age browning.A small library stamp to f/fep.An old book but very sound.
